Metro’s Dodgers Take a 2-1 Lead in the Championship Series

stl_college_baseball_logoritterIn a pivotal Game 3 match-up of the championship round of the St. Louis Metro Collegiate Baseball League, the Dodgers took a 2-1 series lead after a 6-4 victory in Ballwin. Dodgers outfielder Daniel Holst (Ballwin, MO/Southwestern Illinois College) paced the team going 3-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Holst also made some terrific defensive plays in centerfield including gunning down Bandits base-runner Jack Manley at third base in the bottom of the eighth inning that ended a scoring threat. Dodgers righthander Tyler Frohwirth picked up the win after throwing a scoreless eighth inning. He gave up three hits in the inning, but none of them came around to score. Bandits pitcher Tim Agne took the loss. Dodgers righty Scott Pennington picked up the save. Click here for the replay …  Game 4 will be played Wednesday night at BMAC.
