On a wonderful night weather-wise the night started with the announcement of Dalton Hewitt of the Bandits as the Most Valuable Player in the League for 2014 [see photo above – pictured with Bob Totterer].

The starting pitching assignments went to the Kats Noble Hampton for the Americans and the Saints Kurt McGuire for the Nationals.  The rest of the starters for the Americans included the Kats teammates of Drew Kitson in center and Nolan Sponslor at short.  The Rebel starters included Matt Feldt at first, Brandon Gutzler in left, Zac Perkins at third and Mason Fairley behind the plate.  The starters for the Bandits included Dalton Hewitt in right, Ryan Snyder the DH and Danny Mannion at second.

The Nationals representatives in the field were the Saints teammates Tyler Greminger in center, Brent Zimmerman at short and Case Munson in right.  The Dodgers started Justin Blechle at second, Pete Spradlin at third, Matthew Dunavant the DH and Mark Hencken behind the plate.  The Knights team sent out Jake Burger at first and Tommy Hager in left.

The seventh inning stretch gave the fans the Finals of the Home Run Derby [see photo above – pictured with Marty Stein]. The first to hit was Larry Shimsa of the Knights.  After 6 of his allotted 7 outs, Shimsa hit one over the scoreboard in left center. His only Homer.  Then stepped up the Saints Case Munson.  Munson went to his last out before hitting a blast to tie Shimsa then on the next pitch put a dent in the Ballwin Athletic Association sign with his winning blow.

The game then went on to have the Nationals score four in the bottom of the seventh and two more in the eighth to take the game 9-5.

The Most Valuable Player of the All Star Game was the Knights first baseman Jake Burger.  Burger was on base four times with three hits and two RBI.
